 Barcelona is considering Xavi's successor

Barcelona's management has settled on the coach who will sit on the bench next season, if Xavi Hernandez leaves.

Xavi Hernandez announced in a press conference several months ago that he would leave Barcelona coaching at the end of the current season.

According to the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo", the Barcelona administration has settled on the preferred coach among all the options that were studied to succeed Xavi next season.

She indicated that President Joan Laporta's main idea is to continue Xavi for another season, and he must announce this in a press conference to justify retracting his decision, just as he announced his departure decision via a press conference.

After the press conference, Laporta will make his decision regarding Xavi's fate, which will be in favor of his continuation without any doubt.

If Xavi insists on leaving, the first choice will be Rafa Marquez, the coach of the reserve team, especially after most German coaches were excluded from the list of potential options.

The administration took this decision because of the results of the reserve team, in addition to Rafa’s knowledge of the academy players, and his ability to adapt to Barcelona’s economic situation, in addition to his harmony with President Laporta and Deco, the sporting director.

She revealed that Deco was dreaming of contracting with Luis Enrique, the coach of Paris Saint-Germain, but this option is impossible at the present time.

She reported that Barcelona managers secretly call Rafa Marquez “our coach.”
