UEFA threatens to exclude Paris and Marseille from European competitions
Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille are threatened with sanctions by the European Football Association "UEFA", due to the material losses they are exposed to, and their failure to adhere to financial fair play policies, according to a French press report.
Today, Friday, L'Equipe newspaper, the European Union's financial authority has approved a settlement agreement with the two clubs, which includes economic sanctions that may be accompanied by sports sanctions, if the situation does not change during the coming seasons.
Paris Saint-Germain's losses exceeded the allowed 30 million euros barrier, in the last 3 seasons.
And it became necessary for Paris and Marseille to amend their accounts, in order to avoid being subjected to severe penalties, which could amount to exclusion from participating in European competitions.
The UEFA financial authority was not satisfied with the files sent by the two clubs, so they were fined financially.
It is noteworthy that Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille are participating in the Champions League this season, and are awaiting the draw for the group stage, scheduled for August 25.
