The Frenchman, Paul Pogba, who recently joined the ranks of Juventus, admitted that he was in constant contact with Massimiliano Allegri, the coach of Juventus.
Pogba joined Juventus on a free transfer after the end of his contract with Manchester United.
"Even when I was at Manchester United, I always talked to Allegri, and before I came back I spoke to him again, for me he is the coach and the right person," Pogba said in comments highlighted by the Italian TotoMercato Web site.
"We all know that Di Maria is a world-class player who will help the team, because he has experience and is a person with a winning mentality and championships. We all have the same goals."
He continued, "We have to improve compared to the past two seasons, especially at the European level. We all dream of winning the Champions League, but it is not a goal now."
The Frenchman added, "Our first goal is to win the Scudetto after the last zero season. The desire to win is there, and the possibility of winning a European title remains within all of our dreams."
